still addicted

another follower, Hi and welcome, nice to see you here.

I am still addicted, today I made collars and leads, so easy,
To make the leads I cut a thin piece of leather, one end I folded over to form the handle, the other end I attached a small metal ring, I also used some jewellery chains, again cut to lengthy, made a handle, they both looked effective.
The collars, I cut a small piece of leather to size, decorated it with tiny stick ons, I used nail art stickers, folded one end for the buckle, attached a small jump ring, some I stuck into a circle, others I left open.
I am enjoying this project so much, have not started yet to build the shop, I like to have all  my objects ready so that when the shop is built I can begin to put everything in without waiting.

I did sit and draw some designs for doggy beds and I will be staring these tomorrow.

Hope you are all enjoying this project.
see you all tomorrow. see pictures

I have got a bit carried away

There was me with the idea of a Pet shop for my next project, and all was going fine until I made a couple of dog coats, then I did something i should not of done, I went on the Internet to look at dog coats and boy did I get a surprise, I could not get them out of my mind, in the end I gave in and decided to try to make a few to see what they would look like, you will see the end result in the picture below. Well after that I could not concentrate on my pet shop, so it is now becoming a upmarket dog fashion shop, my head is brimming with ideas, I also took a look at doggy beds, my dogs are neglected, just glad they did not see what I did, my life would be hell, as I bet they would be both wanting one, so again armed with my sketch book I made some drawings, I am looking forward to trying them out next week, will let you know how it goes,]]
so what do you think of the doggy coats

even made a brides dress, needs a veil

projects for you

Continuing with my project today, I made a dog basket and dog coat, I thought I would show you how.

I got some Aida fabric and put It on top of a jar lid, ( this is used often for baskets ect) soaked it in diluted pva glue and left it to dry.

When dry, take off the elastic band and cut where the  band was

cut into shape

I then got some bias binding and sewed it on close to the edge, all the way round this gave me a neat edge.

I then cut out a circle to fit the base of the basket, padded it and covered with material, this was then glued into the basket, a sweet little dogs basket, you can vary the size by using different sized tops.

finished basket

Now the dog coats.
I cut out a shape in card, I just looked at my dogs coat and drew that in miniature.

I then using this as the pattern, cut out 2 pieces on fabric. (wrong sides together)
sewed these together, leaving a gap so I could turn it to its right side. sewed up the gap

, added trim, and small bit of ribbon for ties,

finished coats.

Hope you enjoyed these, more work tomorrow, maybe a few more projects we will see

workmen are here

Good morning everyone, its been a cold week and I have not been able to do a lot, have finally decided on my next project, a pet shop, I got some printies and made some food boxes, tins and other bits, feeling a lot better today, so workroom here I come,

I have the builders in today, they are putting a shower in my bathroom, so upside down for a couple of days, when they have finished I will have to get the bathroom decorated, not sure yet what colour it will be yet.

I have also agreed to have a table at a find raising event in March, so now I have got to make miniatures that I can take, also I will be doing some of my shabby chic stuff, I hope the weather gets better as I need to visit the junk shops to get items I can recycle,

I got a new book

I have been trying my hand at making flowers and plants, have been quite pleased with the results, but felt I could do better, I have been looking for a book that would explain how to make flowers and plants and yep I have found one, its great.
Its called Making Miniature Gardens by Freida Gray, It is divided into 2 part's first part covers Techniques and Materials, this is very useful, the instructions are clear and easy to follow, discusses many ways to make flowers, plants ect, lots of pictures to make it easy to follow.
The second part is all about Projects, there are so many you can do, from simple window boxes right through to full gardens scenes, even how to make a green house, I got this book from Amazon, and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in gardens.

Woke up today with a covering of frost everywhere, so staying in today, I am very careful when it gets very cold, my joints will get very painful if I get cold, hence staying in, its become very difficult for me now, since I have been put onto warfarin, they have taken away my anti inflammatory drugs, so when my joints become swollen there is nothing I can do, good job I can still smile.

Poor puppy, it was fatal letting her have her first haircut, she shivers when she goes outside, I cannot find a coat small enough for her, so I am going to try and adapt a woollen sock into a coat for her, that should be fun.
well better do some housework, I can see lots of dust!!! do you know the older I get the more allergic I get to that disease called hoosework, anyone else suffer from this?
bye for now hoover calling
