ITS FINISHED

Hi All

Yes Yes Yes I have finished,

This has been one of my favorite projects to do, I think it was because, apart from using my trash, which I love to use, it took me out of my comfort zone and made me think.

I have been asked how do I come up with my ideas? well I usually take a object and look t it and decide what could I do with it, sometimes the object dictates the design, others like when I did "FRANKS PLACE"  I use a miniature that interests me, in that case it was a dead body, I know I am strange.

with this one, I was asked to make a  prize to be auctioned in aid of MAGPAS,  and as it was from a bikers group, I thought that it should be something that represented their group, and knowing my son, his bike is always getting repaired or adapted, so the idea came for a bikers  garage, then what to put in into, I noticed in his bedroom he had a old helmet and had a light bulb moment, and that is how the idea was born, I then just make it up as I go along, so thats it,

Now see the finished project, I give you
THE BUSTED KNUCKLE GARAGE

I have lights

Hi All

Yes its official, I have lights!!  I could not get the lights i had put into work, and then I was told there was not a electrical supply for me to use. i used led lights ( the sort you get at Xmas ) and they worked by battery, but how was I to get them into the helmet, this gave me a big headache, I made a long box and fitted the lights in, this worked, but then I had the problem of attaching them to the roof of the helmet, which being round was another problem, after a lot of swearing I ended up using really strong glue and left it over night.

Checked it out this morning and the lights had stuck, switched them on and Hey Presto I have lights, but I am now not sure I like them, so I will live with it for a while, what do you all think, I would value your input.

I also dressed my mechanic, just made a simple shirt and overalls, and then made him dirty.

Just need to put everything back in place now, took them off while I did the lights, attach the helmet to the base wall and make the sign and its finished.

what do you think of the lights?

I have decided that now is the time to start my new project, my big shop. my dad brought me this for Christmas and it has sat in its box since, so my son and I got it out and put it together, we have only held it in place with tape, I wanted to see what size it was and the size of the rooms.

My idea for this is to have a large department store, it will be set in modern day, the ground floor will be accessories, to include, handbags, jewellery, hats, perfumes, for both men and women.

2nd floor, ladies and mens clothing, with changing rooms.

3rd floor, babies and childrens and a hairdressing salon for men and women.

Now it is up and I see it has a flat room, I may include a roof top cafe and garden, not sure will see how it goes.

The  ground floor, I want to put in fancy stairs so I will need to change the dividing wall,
this one will take me a while, but will be fun, it will incorporate stuff I know I can do and others to challenge me, I will be putting my progress on here, the good as well as the bad.

anyway enough chatting, check out my photos

I am speeding along now

Hi All

yes I am speeding along, got a lot done today, put in shelves, added tins, bottles, boxes anything garage related.

It is full of stuff, there are parts for sale on the walls, a box of oddments, that someone may find useful,

While I was working on it, someone popped into the garage and asked if I could display their motorbike, they want to sell it, so it is standing in front of the garage.

I did not manage to get the lights sorted, I need new bulbs, never mind they will get sorted.

I now need to make the signage, I am calling it Busted Knuckle Garage, found this name on the web and loved it,  there are just a few bits i need to do, but on the main its finished.

There is so much there, so I am going to let the pictures speak.

Its getting exciting

Hi All

yes its getting exciting, my project is really coming on now, have started putting the lights in, they all worked, but when i came to take photos, would you believe it only one lit up, to tired to sort it today, so its on my list to do tomorrow.

I made a scissor lift (well thats what my son called it) to me its s thingy that you put the motor bikes on so you can work on them, I used balsa wood and bits from my stash, I then painted it in blue paint, I am very pleased with how it came out.

the main light, is attached to the roof of the helmet with a chain, I made again from balsa wood the hanger and dismantled a light and fixed this to the holder, there are 2 side lights,

I put up some shelves, and have started to fill them with bits, i used the old batteries and added labels,

I love it when my projects start to come together,
anyway check out my photos
