I am on a roll

Hi All

First I must say sorry to my new followers, I did not notice you, so I am sending a big welcome and hope that you will enjoy my blog, please feel free to comment, I love comments.

I am on a roll, now that I am feeling better and seem to of got over my poorly state, its like I am catching up, I have at least 4 projects on the go. I go to get something from my stash that I need for my beach scene  and my eyes will spy an object and off I go, doing another mini.
The garden bits started because of my own garden, I was looking at a magazine for ideas, and I spotted bits that I thought that would work in mini, so started them.
I then went to look for a small table and spotted a hall stand and dressing table, I liked the shape of these, and guess what? yes you got it I started on them. In between all this I am working on the ducks and their beach scene.

I will try to day to concentrate on one thing at a time, she says with a smile on her face, do you believe me? I don't.

Better let you see the photos of what I am up to.

I have put the cups onto table legs, need to make the bottom bit so that they stand on thier own

update on beach hut

Hi All
I continue to feel better, still get breathless but I am pacing myself a lot more and gradually learning how to do things at a slower pace. hard for me but it is enabling me to get things done. i am so glad I have my miniatures to keep me sane, so on that note lets talk minis.

Yesterday I worked on my beach hut, its coming together well, I am now at the stage where I can start to put the scene together, I made a sand castle by cutting 3 small round pieces of wood and covering them with sand paper, I placed the smaller one on the top of the bigger one, added a flag, cute.

I made a notice board for the hut and added lots of postcards of different places, put up 2 shelves and a small table, I have started putting stuff on the shelves, so far I have added biscuits and juice cartons, today i want to make some toys for the kids and other bits as they come to mind.

In between this, i was looking at a garden magazine for bits for my garden and I love the cup and saucer bird feeders, I got thinking could I make this in miniature, yes I can, so I did, I also made another kind, these have a large cup on top of a big stick and you put this in the ground, sometimes they have bird seed in and some have a candle in it, still got to make a base for those, but you can see the idea in the picture.
I love looking at real life objects and seeing if I can make it in mini.

going to look again at the garden magazine

here are the photos

I used sesame seeds for the bird feed

still more to do with this one

measurements in metric

Hi All
for those of you that do not do inches here are the measurements in metric
7 1/2 inches = 18 cm
3 inches = 7.5 cm
I still work in inches, old fashioned girl is me

tutorial for you

Hi all

well I continue to improve, I have new Medicine and it seems to be helping my breathing, still cannot do a lot of walking, housework without getting breathless, but I am a lot better than I was, waiting for a scan appointment now and then back to hospital. Thank you again for your kind words.

Did manage to do a little project for my beach hut scene, so thought I would show you how I made it.

Step one, I got some material, the size I wanted it to be was 71/2 inches log 3 inches high, so I cut 2 pieces slightly bigger, hemmed the top and bottom on both pieces.

then sew bias binding to each end and 2 more at 21/2 inches apart, make sure you leave the ends open

I then added some contrasting ribbon on the front, using the line of bias binding for guidance.

Sew both sides together, right sides facing, leave gap so that you can turn it the right way and ensure you leave gaps at the bottom and top for the kebab sticks to go

Take 4 kebab sticks and cut to size. they need to be a bit longer than your wind breaker, at findings to the ends, I used a flat shape for the bottom so it would stand up.I also sprayed with hairspray to stiffen it, you could use fabric stiffener or iron on stiffener, I

finished, front view

back view

I hope you was able to understand my instructions, let me know if you make it.

I thought as well I would show you my new garden area, where I can now sit and drink my coffee.

on the mend

Hi All
thank you so much for your kind words and wishes for me, I am getting better, I had a chest infection, I was getting very breathless, but with the aid of antibiotics and steroids I am on the road to being well, It did knock me off my feet, I had to stay in bed and rest, how I hate that.
Its a bugger just when the sun as shined I have a lovely area to sit in, I get sick, is there any justice.
Hope to be back mining soon.
