floor done

First I must thank you all for your lovely comments, i love reading them.
so chuffed my miniatures was shown in the lastest Dolls House and Miniature scene magazine, they showed my ruined settee and a room box, at last my name in lights.

Finally got the floor finished, due to not having enough tiles I had to adapt and change my idea and lay what I had in this pattern ( see photo) I also experimented with printing my own fabric, I first found some pics that I thought would lend its self to being printed as fabric, scanned them, messed about with them using my photo programme, then printed, not that happy with the results, they ended up looking faded, I am finding that with my Kodak printer the inks maybe a lot cheaper, the printing colours are poor, luckily I still have my older one, so going to try with that, as they say you get what you pay for, and this time it seems I did.`

I have also been busy making cushions for my bed, I found a lovely bedspread in pinks and whites, I had red cushions on my bed so they had to go, in my stash I had some lovely vintage flowered material, never throw anything away you never know when you will be able to use it, anyway made 4 cushions, they look great but now I have decided that the wall paper does not go, so added that to my list of jobs to be done, this list is getting longer,

went into my work room this morning and its a mess, so will have to tidy before I can start again, that's after doing the washing, hovering, dusting oh dear why do we have to do these things, well better get on see you all soon.

making progress

Awake early today, well if I am honest did not have a lot of sleep, why does pain wait for you to relax and then jump in and says got ya, so in the end I got up and worked on my project, I find when I am occupied I can sometimes switch off the pain, so armed with the paint brush I carried on painting, I have used gold to highlight the window and door,
for the ceiling I used a design that I had in my stash and painted it, when it was dry I cut out the bits I wanted and placed it on the ceiling, I think it looks quite effective,
I needed to check I had enough floor tiles, so I drew the shape put and started to place the tiles, and what did I find I do not have enough to cover all the floor, so I messed about and came up with a design that will fit, but that meant I had to come up with something else to cover the floor, after checking my paints I found some black, so I have painted the floor black and hopefully can lay the tiles tomorrow.
The front door was also painted gold and I have added a Egyptian figure to the front. I made a decision to cover the front with a lovely brick paper that I found, I really need to check out my boxes to see what I really have got,
well that how far I have got,
I could not help bragging about my new shelving, have got a picture for you now I have put on my ornaments, I made the love sign, my bronze Indian's I have had for a long time, i really love this. check out the photos.

shelving is done

Hi and welcome to my new followers, nice to see you here,

There  was a bonus to me not being able to do a lot this week,  my shelving unit was finished, think he felt sorry for me and wanted to cheer me up, well I have been waiting nearly a year for this, next week he will be starting the TV unit, hooray, have put on a picture for you to see.

I got very bored this week with my body aching and all I could do was sit, my friend came over for the day and we went to the local craft shop, I wanted a knitting pattern for my sons Christmas present, a jumper, went in for that and came out with a pattern for a jumper for myself, still I now can sit and do a little bit of knitting, I am now feeling a lot better and hope to start my minis again next week, hope you all have had a good week, I have enjoyed looking at all your blogs, there are so many talented people out there.
so any way see you next week

see my new puppy

Hi all
not been having a great time, my joints are so sore, and this is making it hard for me to work on my miniatures so I am having a few days rest, hopefully they will settle down and I can start making again, was feeling down then I got a call  I can go and choose my puppy, it was a very difficult decision as they were both so cute, but I finally settled on the smallest one she has got lovely curly hair and I sat and nursed her for a long while, she nestled into my neck and licked me, I have now got to wait till the 7th October then I can bring her home, my little dog Freebie went crazy smelling me when I got home, she will be so surprised when I bring little Muppet home, yes that will be her name, here are the photos

I can paint

Yes I can paint, I managed to get into my work room today, so before anyone could stop me I grabbed my paint brush, paint and got started, as this is all new wood I have painted first with wood primer as this will give me a good key for further decorating,  My next job is to lay the floor tiles, just hope I have enough, maybe I had better work it out first, I feel good that at last I have started.

while I was waiting to get into my work room I did get a chance to finish off some of my bigger projects for my kitchen redo, I have put pictures on for you to see what I have been up to. I took a bread bin, paper towel holder, picture frames, shelf and a small cupboard and repainted them, added some pictures I printed from Graphic Fairy blog, I love this blog its well worth you taking a look, when I finished I then varnished to protect them,
my son thinks I have now lost the plot and is scared to stand still in case I shabby chic him, as if, mind you he might look better with a bit of colour than the all black look he seems to love, each to there own I suppose

so frustrated

I am so frustrated, cannot get into my work room, it is filled with shelves that have been painted and now we are waiting for them to dry, its raining here so all the painting is being done indoors, and everywhere I look there is wood with paint on it, it is so boring waiting for paint to dry, should not really complain I do want my shelving unit finished, bit I cannot do any minis AH!!!
I am siting here now looking for patterns for a jumper for my son for Christmas, oh my goodness did I mention the C word, I asked him what he wanted and he asked for a hand knitted jumper with an arran pattern, its very cold where he lives in Scotland, so instead of watching paint dry I thought at least I can look for the pattern, then it will be a quick trip to town to pick the wool, I just cannot sit and do nothing I always have to have something I can do.
I will put up pictures when my lounge is finished I just feel its going to take a while
never mind good things come to those that wait.
