hi and welcome to Beatrice

Visited my mum, she is a lot better and is just having some tests and then she will be able to come home, hopefully she will see this as a warning and start to look after herself a bit better, she can be so stubborn and sometimes thinks she knows better than the doctor, we will see
Welcome Beatrice, hope you enjoy my blog, please feel free to add any comments,

today the work room is being finished, should be able to move back into there on Sunday, thank goodness so frustrating not being able to do much, any way as promised photos

bargain shelving picked up at argos, only 13.00 and is great for organising my stuff

fell in love with this from Ebay

have decided to turn it into a school for owls

first attempt at making owls,

saw this idea and decided to do it myself, impressed that I even made the food.

as you can see from the pictures, work room in progress,
my vegetable plot is coming on very well and next week I should be able to start thinning out the plants, think I may of put a few too many seeds in, Jim next door is pleased as he will be getting free veg plants,

hope you like the little bird house, got this from ebay and it will become ate some time an owls school, I had a go at making owls and was pleased with the result, now I want to make others but in different poses and wearing clothes,

the little dresser I saw something similar and made my own, this was the first time I had made cakes and I enjoyed it, I could sit and watch Tv while doing it

what a week

What a week
first my breathing problems have not let up so another visit to the doctor, more steroids, antibiotics and a nebuliser, oh I also have got to have an Xray,
then a call last night, my mum has had a couple of mini strokes, so over to the hospital for a few hours while we wait to see what is going to happen, she has recovered from the strokes but as got to stay in for a couple of days,

I am sitting surrounded by boxes beginning to sort out my stuff, I brought some new boxes and shelving, the shelves are great they are meant for a kiddies room to hold toys but they are perfect for me,

so today I am  back to the hospital to see my mum, please say prayers for, its so worrying, she is 76yrs old and has always been fit and well,
will keep you updated

its all go here

Hi to you all
I know there as been a delay in posting so here's an update
well its finally happening, my work room is in progress, me thinking it would just be a simple task of covering the wall, a bit of paint and Bobs your uncle its done!! no way, it is being insulated, plastered, new lights, sockets, flooring, that's before he starts to make the work tops, I did think it would only take a weekend, but we are only half way here, but its going to be great, we decided that while we was doing this room we would also do the little corridor as well, so this week I will be painting walls and ceilings, ready for the work tops to be put in next weekend,  my trouble is I get very impatient and want it done yesterday, I am sitting surrounded by boxes and dolls houses, even I was surprised at the amount of stuff I had, I will as I put everything back sort out and label boxes, become organised, now I know that is a word that is hardly used in the miniature world but hey lets give it a go, its still going to be a couple of weeks before I can get back to my minis so I have been working on my veggie plot.

this week I have planted radishes, spinach and parsnips, got some really cheap cloches from out local 99p shop, so using them, my dogs think it is great fun to run in and out of these, they also seem to enjoy eating the fish and bone meal fertiliser that I put down,

I hope that my little garden will become productive, my son is trying to persuade me to get a couple of chickens, not sure as its me that ends up looking after them,  today i am going to get the rest of the plot ready to plant out the veggies that are sitting in the greenhouse, they are nearly ready to plant out, so pleased with myself as so far I have grown from seed, stayed organic and green,  still recycling, my runner bean tepee is the wooden part of a sun umbrella, I am sure my neighbours think I am crazy, I blame the medication!!!

so keep watching for the next update, will get some photos done for you to see
till then happy miniaturing

40,s house

Had a better day yesterday, so took some photo's of my latest project I am working on,
its a 40,s house set during ww2, i hope that I am achieving the look I wanted, I have tried to make it look scruffy, so I  did not take care with wallpapering, or painting, have got to repair the bedroom window pelmet, caught it when I was adding the wardrobe,
I have lights to add to the bedroom then i can start on the attic, this is where the son sleeps, he is in the war and mum and dad are very worried as they have not had a letter for a long time, they have a parcel that they have filled for the red cross ready to send, dad is a retired railway man, but does help out with the home guard, mum just keeps it all together managering on her meagre budget, I intend to add a garden scene with vegetable plot and Anderson shelter, I have to have a story about the houses I make I find it helps me to develop it if I have a family in mind, its makes it more personal, I am having great fun with this one and it will eventually be displayed in my workroom,
I will try to remember to put on some tuts of the miniatures I made for this little house
Today its more packing and sorting so much stuff, but nothing will get thrown away,
My family think I am mad at times ( well all the time) I am now saving toilet rolls, I intend to use them as protection for my vegetable plants in my garden when I plant them out. my other project is my vegetable garden and I try to be as green as possible with it, when i first moved here the garden was just a small field with lots of nettles, now I have a lawn and a vegetable plot, and this year I have plans to redesign it, will show you when its done
please feel free to add comments about my work
watch this space for more to come

time goes on

Well it has been some time since I have wrote on my blog, have had to have a rest, my body decided that I needed time out, I have CRPS, what!!!? it means that my brain no longer realises that I don't have pain so it keeps me in pain all the time, added to that osteoporosis to the back, and various other complaints, every so often it prevents me from doing a lot and I have a little set back, my medication gets increased and the dreaded tiredness creeps in, so unlike me this time I listened and stopped and rested, well not completely, I did do a little,

The good news is my friend is now ready to start my work room, so my son has been helping me to pack stuff in boxes, how did I accumulate so much!
I have put some pictures of the bits I did do during this quiet period and a couple of later work, enjoy

all my sewing work is hand stitched and is removable
