attacking the house

I blame the cooker, I was quite happy with my Victorian house, doing bits now and then, no problem, then I saw it a lovely cooker, got to have that I said, then looking at my house I thought I need to change the kitchen, first I have re done the dining room, in earlier posts I showed the ceiling I had done and the wall panels, well that is now done, just got wall lights to put in and I can then think about the furniture, and there lies another tale, I carefully stripped the original chairs re painted them, changed the seat covers, finished or so I thought, then on eBay I saw a wonderful table, chairs all laid with dinner service, the table has little brass wheels, it is so lovely, but its 40.00 for the lot, I put it on watch and carried on redoing my original table and chairs but I could not get the set I had seen out of my head, so today I have put on a bid for it, it has one day to go, I am telling myself its an early Christmas present, that's my excuse and I am sticking to it, I hope to be able to show you it in a few days, just hope I win it.
Now I looked at the kitchen, stripped it all back, whats that, the entrance hall now looked a bit dingy, yes you guessed I stripped that as well, they are now both ready for redecoration, and to think it all began with a new cooker. hope this time I will be satisfied. we will see.

Had some good news I sold my 40,s house on eBay this week, I also cleared out a lot of stuff that I did not need, it all went, wish I could sell like that every week.

I had a 1/24th cabinet, showed before in earlier posting, the lady who has the 1/24th house saw it and immediately brought it, she was so happy with it, I must admit I am not very keen on making items that small, but she keeps coming back for me to make more, she now wants pictures and kitchen items, so more work to do, I do not like turning her down as it all helps with advertising my work.

In between all this I have started working on my pine unit for my own kitchen, it is now rubbed down ready for painting, having to wait for a dry day, my friend has given me a old meat safe, it is in a terrible condition, but have taken it apart to see what I can do with it.

I have had another visit to the physio, I am beginning to think we speak differently, as I keep saying its the pain at night when I lie on my rt side and she keeps giving me exercises to make it move, I try to explain moving it is not that much of a problem its the pain, so what happens I come home with a pulley system to play with for 6 weeks, cannot wait to see what happens on my next visit.

news on the puppy, Muppet, she is not growing, she still only weighs 1.2kgs, and is now 31/2 months old, she makes up for her size with her attidude, she is very stubborn and if she wants something she will have it, everyone who meets her think she is adorable and they all want her, but she is not for sale.

Don't you just hate it when real life gets in the way of miniatures, I had so many plans this weekend, instead I visited DIY shops to pick paint and other bits for my kitchen, I know I should not complain as I will have a nice new kitchen before Christmas,

I did manage to do some today, I have made the fire surround and chimney breast, they are being glued as we speak, I have put up the ceiling, glued in place the coving, cannot do much more waiting for it all to stick,

this is my unit that will be in the dining room, it took me a long time to collect the ornaments and I am very happy with them.

Tomorrow I have to visit the physio, to see if she can get my right arm moving a bit better and to help with the pain, do not hold out much hope, but we will see.

glad you liked my little puppy, she had her first haircut and nails done today, she was so good, she is full of mischief and is constantly on the go, then she will suddenly stop and go to sleep.

Been busy today, I finished off the ceiling, I added some gold paint to the edges and around the inner circle, I also high lighted the ceiling rose, stuck this all down and added the light, I will be hopefully putting it in my dolls house tomorrow.

I have also wallpapered the walls, in the picture you can see the panelling, this is not stuck down yet I just wanted to see what the effect would be, and yes I liked it.

The fireplace also had gold added to it, I have got to now make the chimney breast, again a job for tomorrow, I am experimenting with some small wooden bits to make the tiles around the fire, will show pictures when I am satisfied it will work.

so that's what I got up to today,

feeling very excited as well my new kitchen flooring has arrived, its laminate flooring that looks like oak, also my tiles are here, I have chosen white tiles that are brick shaped, I have been told it will be started in about 2 weeks, so that will give me time, if we get good weather, to get my pine shelving sanded down, we also need to start getting the kitchen ready for decorating, going to choose the paint, not sure yet what colour I want, its always so hard as there are so many colours to choose from, there I go rambling on again, told you I do that.

while I  here I must say a big thank you for all the lovely comments you give me, I read everyone, they are great to receive.

Feeling much better, which is good as I had a commission to do, I sold the 1/24th set and the lady liked it so much she asked me to furnish a cabinet for her, no problem so I thought, I have the up most respect for those of you who work in this scale, my stress levels got very high, even the dogs took one look and went swiftly away, why is it that every time I went to place the little beggars would my hands shake!!!!! I eventually got it done, and guess what now she wants some pictures Ahg!!!!  so I have shrunk some nice pictures and painted matchstick's ready for Friday when I start again,
having tomorrow off, shopping and treating myself to a hair cut, having a restyle and wave, luxury.

I have started to redo my dining room in the Victorian house, managed to strip the wall paper off, what did I use to stick it with, anyway when I got that done I sat and contemplated what was I going to do?

I eventually decided to make wood panels for the walls and have a design on the ceiling,
I made a false ceiling, this made it easier for me to do, now I have got that all ready, had to put it to one side, soon I will get back to it.

next week I have got to start work on my bungalow ( my home, big not small ) we have got to take the tiles off, rub down wood work, I also have to work on my pine wall unit, I got this from eBay for 20.00 (must put a picture on ) it needs a lot of work before I can put it on the wall, I will be trying to creep in and do some minis,

Heath wise, went to Physio yesterday and now have some exercisers to do, this is to strenghten my right arm, hope it works, got to have weekly trips for a while

Good morning
first a warm welcome to my new followers, nice to see you here, feel free to comment, I love comments.
not having a good week, went for my regular blood tests and my clotting level was low, I have also got breathless and more tired than usual, so they have upped my warafin and I have to go back in 2 weeks, unless anything happens, must admit got really fed up over this sometimes I lust feel like its one kick after another, my body is in pain all the time, my rt arm keeps letting me down, got physio today, maybe they will be able to help. well I feel better now, there are times when one needs to have that short moment of self pity, than you get up shake yourself down and start all over again (I am sure that's a line from a song)

while I have been sitting here I have been thinking of my next project, one idea is to use the dead body and trolley I got some time ago and make some kind of haunted morgue, or something else. decisions

have got a page now on face book where I am advertising my work for sale, maybe I should use this time to develop my blog, or make a web site, we will see,

anyway my blog friends, enough for today better go to physio, thanks for letting me go on a bit

Tiny minis

After the success of making 1/24th perfume bottles I thought I would have a go again and progress a bit more by making little tray sets.

Although I did enjoy making these they are very difficult to do, you need good tweezers, magnifying glass and a good light, forgot to add steady hands.

I first found some pictures of perfume labels and shrunk them down to the smallest size, this worked but it is to small to see the details, I found some little silver coloured rings which I pasted on to mirror card and cut them out, I also cut small pieces of balsa wood, painted these,
after hunting down small beads etc, I started putting things together, the pictures I already had on my computer I just printed them out smaller, the picture frames are small jewellery bits that I had in my stash.

the tied letters, again I shrunk and printed letters I had and after folding them I tied them with red embroidery cotton.

I did end up with glued fingers, lost beads, they ping off and gave up trying to find them,
finally I got the results I wanted, see what you think
