progress made with my house

thought today I would put on some photos so you could see the progress I am making on   my Victorian house, this is my big project and I tend to do a bit at a time in between making my other miniatures,
so far I have completed the dining room, the kitchen and I am currently working on the entrance hall. for the hall I am currently making a large trunk, which I will be filling with clothes and other bits.
I have been working on this for nearly a year, this week I brought bits for the garden, I shall be having a garden next to it, but on eBay there was some bits that I could not resist, so they are in my box ready for when I build my garden.

I also made a bed. seem to have the bed bug at the moment. anyway this time I decided to make the bed itself. I am quite pleased with how it came out.

well enough of my rambling, look at the photos and see for your self.

bed forgot to post

oops in my excitement forgot to show bed,
thanks Norma, will try that it sounds easier than the way I did it.
hope you like this, I hand stitch all my work and you can remove the covers, I did stiffen the throw but it can be removed.

TUTORIAL,

In between resting I have been going into my work room and doing some more projects, I had a very tatty settee and chair that I had been looking at, I decided to give it a shabby chic look,
I forgot to take a photo of before, so I will try to describe it, it was a horrible brown colour with shaky legs, so I removed the old varnish, strengthened the legs, gave it all a base coat of white then painted it a light blue, it had a flat cushion, so i decided to make square cushions, i had never done this before but I was pleased with the end result.
below is a tutorial of how I made the cushions.

1. I measured the settee and chair, and made 3 box shapes from cardboard, I then covered the sides with my material, I did this to all the cushions,

2. I then sewed the top cover to the front of the cushion box.

I also filled the box shape with wadding.

3. I then stitched the material all round the sides and back to complete the cushion, I also added white braid to the seams to finish it off.

Showing all side stitched

finished cushions with white braid.

I hope you managed to understand how I did this, I am sure there is a easier way to do this.
I then finished off my settee and chair.

I hope you like it. i also finished off my bed, this started off as a gold bed, I repainted it black, leaving the knobs gold, I then made the covers and dressed the bed.

I am starting to feel much better now and I am gradually increasing the amount of time I spend in my work room, last week i had intended to put my bits on Ebay, but went out instead so hopefully this week end I will find the time.

Hi to my new followers, hope you enjoy my blog

Having another good day, must be the weather, have finished my owl school and my friend now wants to buy it, its difficult I find when selling to friends as I always feel I should let them have items cheaper, so I am trying to decide the best price,

also finished my baby shop, so now have enough to put on ebay this weekend,
pictures below of the shop,

My little Yorkie, Freebie is feeling sorry for herself today she has had a haircut, sometimes she gets more pampering then me, she will be worse tomorrow I am going to bath her, that will be fun I get just as wet as she does.

anyway here are the pictures

well that's all for now, I have now got to decide what next to do, maybe I will work on my house for a change, see you all soon

progress

Welcome Susi I hope you
will enjoy my blog and the items I create.

I have been working hard today and just had to show you all how I was getting on, I have sat in my workroom nearly all day and its only when my little dog barked I realised that it was tea time, don't you just hate it when real life gets in the way of miniatures, oh for a chef!!
so I quickly fed the dog, threw together a stir fry and got back to minis,  I have just got the base to finish, I must admit I had forgotten about it and kept wondering why it would not sit right, as I was moving some bits I came across the base, I can be so dizzy at times, so now have got that to paint, in the mean time let me show you what I have done

as you can see I have now decorated the outside and placed the furniture and owls inside, I had hoped to make a playground for the garden but on looking at it there was not enough space so I added a garden instead. I am really pleased with this and now just to paint the bas and then its ready. I will be putting this on eBay for sale hopefully this weekend I have a few more miniatures to finish off first, I will have to see how I get on.
well that it for now, ironing awaits, see you all soon

owl school

Well i am still taking things slowly, working one day resting the next, but feeling much better, I have been working on my owl school so thought I would update you all on the progress,
this is it in its original state before I got my hands on it

my first attempt at owls

next attempt, the school teacher and his pupils

inside I repainted, added shelves, blackboard and a cute little clock, I made this using a cut out of a clock face and a small hand bead.

on one of the shelves I placed 2 plates with apples and orange slices,
i am now at the stage of putting it together, this is the bit I enjoy the most, i made the little owls from filmo first time I had tried to make animals and I think they came out well, anyway I will let you be the judge see my pictures

still a bit more to go, some more painting and the garden to sort out, got an idea for a playground, but will have to see if I have enough room,
see you all later

new work

Hi
welcome to Tee, I hope you will enjoy my blog, Thanks Norma for your lovely comments.
well I have been doing as I am told, its hard to be still, in my head I am still running around at full speed. as I said I was going to finish of my half finished projects, guess what I have finished 4, yes 4,

bedroom set, I had painted this in cream and distressed it, added gold paint and trim,

this started as a round coffee table, I added longer legs and a mirror then painted the same as the bed,
I made the perfume bottles from beads and the small dish is a button filled with old flowers

I added small pics of flowers then decorated the same as the bed

on the bed is a wooden tray made from scraps of wood, flowers and a book

I have still to add more bits to this, so far it has towels, perfume boxes and a memory box

this was an old broken settee that I repaired, painted and recovered, added cushions

I am pleased with the results and these will go into eBay for sale when I have got a few more items made.
today shopping first then back to my room, I just love it in there and find I completely lose track of time, well better hang out the washing see you all later.
