Decisions, decisions

Hi All,
Gosh another follower, thank you. Enjoy yourself.

I had a lovely gift yesterday, my friend Sue, sent me 2 lovely knited shawls and ating handbag, I had sent her some spare wool and this was her gift to me, so sweet.

Over the last couple of months I have lost friends that I knew from school both my age 55, it made me think, The years go so fast, we should never forget the friends we have and the friends we have lost.

Did not get a lot done yesterday, well not enough to tell you about, I spent most of the day sanding, painting more sanding, more painting.
I did get another unit finished, I filled it with objects.

I got a bit side tracked, I found a sweet little bird box the other day, I was about to go and put it in my garden and I thought it looked very plain, so I sanded it and painted it, told you it was a boring day, I have not yet decided what I will do with it yet, it has its base colour of white, I will see today if I get any inspiration, will show you the finished result.

Back to my shabby chic shop, I am still not sure about the stairs, I considered a spiral staircase, but that still took up space, I then considered turning the staircase to the other wall, this did give space back but it hid the windows, Today I am going to look at maybe a false door giving the indication of stairs behind it. See what I mean about decisions.

Off the subject a bit, I am going to mention the weather, I know that's all the English seem to talk about, but last week we was in our tee-shirts and enjoying really hot weather and this week, its cold, wet and windy and I have had to turn my heating back on, in some places they have loads of snow, unbelievable.

well you have probably had enough of me wittering on so I will show you the dresser I finished yesterday, hope to have more to show you tomorrow and hopefully I will have decided what I am going to do, watch this space.

the dresser, filled with bits that will be for sale in the shop, I hope I have achieved the cluttered look.

my work room calls,

Hi All
hello and welcome to my new follower, I hope you will enjoy my blog, feel free to leave comments, I love comments.

I had a lazy weekend, I am still trying to get rid of the fluid on my legs, so I tried keeping them elevated, worked a bit, but still puffy, never mind, life goes on.

Yesterday i had so many plans of what I was going to do, I visited my mum, she had not been well, had my hair done and when I looked at the clock it was 5pm, I fed my dogs, got our tea, had a shower, watched a bit of TV, went to bed, I ask myself where did the day go?

So this morning I was going to get into my work room as soon as I could, and I did,
It does not seem like I have done a lot, but I was busy, honest, I made little pots, vases, soaps, boxes, towel bales, the list goes on, when you see the photos at the end of this you will see what I have been doing.

I have one more unit to fill, a table to distress, I think I had better start to decorate the shop, so I can see how much room I will have and where I will be placing items,
I did have a look at it this morning and I am not happy where the stairs go, I might have to kook at that more carefully, I may even attempt to make a circular staircase, we will see.

Anyway lets get on with the photos

do you like all the little items?

evening all

Hi all
wow every time i turn on my blog I find another follower, thank you and welcome,

We have had some lovely hot days and now the weekend is looming, guess what its turning cold again, typical English weather, never mind it was nice while it lasted.

So what have I been up to, I have been working on some of the furniture that I plan to use in the shabby chic shop and flat, not sure yet which bits will be used in what area, I will just keep going till I feel I have enough and then do a dry run to see what fits where and what looks best.

I finished the dresser, I added handles to the drawers and put a backing on the shelving top.

I then completed a day bed, I did not like it as it was, so I repainted it and made a new covers and cushions.

I also started to make hat boxes and little objects to go in the units and shelves, I got some pictures and posters which I have laminated.

hope you all have a great weekend.

here's the photos

been busy today

Hi All

wow up to 121 followers, thank you for joining me and my miniatures, I hope you like what you see, feel free to comment, I love your comments, you give me encouragement, so thank you.

I have started to work on the furniture for my shabby chic shop, I like to have everything ready to put in place when I have finished decorating, I am very impatience, I do not like to wait.

I started with a settee and a dresser, both of these have been repainted and distressed, the settee I covered with a lovely pink and grey material and added grey trim.

The dresser still needs a bit more doing to it, I had in mind a lovely flowered set of plates, I had hoped to put these on, but they are to big for the shelves, now I have to look for something else.

I also made a belt for my Victorian house keeper, to wear round her waist,

anyway here are the photos

for the front of the cushions I used a lace mat, which I cut up

this has shades of blue showing through the white paint,

you may of seen this before, this will become my shabby chic shop, my bargain for 16.00

bargain buys

Hi All.
I will not bore you with the ongoing problems with my drugs and my forthcoming operation, just to say, I wish one of them will make up their minds over what is going to happen.

I felt better today, so I went into town, it has been ages since I had visited my cheapy shops, I was having withdrawal symptoms and the only cure was to find some bargains, and I did.

I got a lovely bird box, and I am sorry but the birds are not having it, it is staying in with me.
I then picked up 3 picture frames, these I will make into mirrors, then out of the corner of my eye I spied a fantastic book, Antique style, Projects from a bygone era, it is full of Victorian projects, so many ideas to use for miniatures.

I did do a bit of work as well today, I am going ahead with the shabby chic shop, I already have some furniture, I have rubbed it down and it is ready for painting, will show you when I have finished.

I got given a small shadow box, I have turned it into a shabby chic box, I think its turned out quite good, have put on a photo for you to see what you think.

well that's it for now, I will leave you with the photos.
