I have been busy

I have been busy making more bits for the new project, I have found the wall paper I am going to use, bit more to do on it before I show you.
today I made a scroll and a box to put it in, here are the details

I made a small long box to hold the scroll

this I painted metallic gold, placed tiny picture on top

sorry this i a bit blurred, I cut and painted 2 cocktail sticks, rolled a small Egyptian design and attached the ends to the sticks, then it was rolled up

I am making a few of these, along with boxes and other bits, as it is a large shop, I hope to end up with a large selection that are for sale,

I have also been to the hospital today to have my echo scan, will have the results in a couple of weeks, just hope all is ok,
this weekend is down to housework stuff like washing, ironing cooking cleaning, there depressed myself now, so going to have a large drink and watch a bit of telly bye for now

FINALLY STARTED

Hello and welcome to my new followers, how pleased am I to go over 50, how will I feel if it reaches a 100, hope you enjoy my blog and like my work, please feel free to make comments, I enjoy recieving them.

after a lot of deliberation I have decided to start my Egyptian project,it has been sitting looking at me for a long time, and now I have my new work room I have the space to work on it, I have put on pictures before but will be showing them again, one of my problems was deciding what to cover the wall with, well I found something, and I am now in the process of making the paper look right, I am still undecided what to do the outside wall in, I welcome any suggestions, I was very lucky with the shop, I picked it up for 5.00 from my local second hand shop, I could not believe my luck, the other bits I have collected for a long time and I have also made a lot of ornaments and bits for it, today I am going to spray a cabinet gold to match the others I have already done, it really just needs decorating and putting it all together, so off I go.

I have also completed another one of my projects, its a mans desk, I sprayed this matt black, added some gold decorations and then added stuff to make it look real, hope you like it

As I was not up to doing much this week, I decided to finish off some little projects,

before

I repainted this White, distressed it, I made the desk accessories using some pink leather, the pen holder is a small piece of a straw, covered, the pencils are ends of toothpicks, cut and painted, the hat box was covered in leather, the letter holder is a small finding bent in half and fixed with another finding to make it stand, all the printies are bits I have found on the web. The drawer is filled with personal papers, I have just got to finish a matching chair, with maybe a few more accessories

I repainted this cream, added some flower transfers from my stash, then decorated it with china, the jars of jam are bits of tubing cut to size and labels added, there is a recipe box holder, books, letters, cakes ect. I hope I have achieved a cluttered look

in the drawer I just cut a small peice of cloth and stuck it to the inside of the drawer, also I cut small squares of white material and made napkins, and put them inside, I then filled  the cupboards, making them from the metal end of a pencil ( the bit that holds the rubber) this seems to be the right size, put labels on them, cut out 2 boxes and again labeled them, I made a small wooden crate and put in some veg

no before, forgot to photo, this was dark brown, so I repainted white, added some transfers, added 2 small knobs to the mirror to hold necklaces, made perfume bottles, the small shell was an earing, I took off the back, covered with felt and found a jewellery peice that looked like a broach, I made the jewellery using bits from my stash

in the top drawer is personal papers, the small cupboard hols more perfumes, soaps, ect.
the drawers hols some clothing, I made a nightie, 2 prs of knockers and a small top.


with all my miniatures I like to add a touch of realism and hopefully give that lived in look, I take my inspiration from magazines, pictures and things that I would like.
I will be putting these on eBay this weekend, along with a few more bits, lets hope they sell/

no work done

good morning all
I have not been able to do any miniatures so far this week, my body decided to let me down, so I have stayed in bed for a few days, still I had my telly, my laptop and my son looking after me, sometimes my joints get so stiff it gives me a lot of pain and discomfort to move so bed is the only place to be, feeling better this morning so hopefully I will be able to do a little bit,
I cannot believe what is happening to my country, senseless violence and looting, when will it end, I am so glad I live in a small town and I know where my kids are, its a shame because not all youngster are the same, some are as horrified as we are, for those of you who are watching this from afar we are not all like what you are seeing, England is still a fantastic place and do not let what you see colour your views of us.
well rant over, time to get dressed and see what I can do today.

stange or weird

Finally the mystery object.
my family think that I have finally gone nuts, they do not have a miniaturists mind, I suppose having been a nurse for many years I just found it great, have a few things in my mind what I could do with it, but for now it will sit on my shelf until I am ready to play, anyway you make up your own minds up, is it weird or strange to you!!!

its a dogs life

welcome to Mieke, glad you dropped by, also thank you for your lovely comments, I love reading them,
its cooled down here thank goodness, and we have had a lot of rain, easier to work in.

Just had to show you this, my little dog, freebie is so lazy, when I get up in the morning she stays in bed, yes I let her sleep with me, she is spoilt, look at this photo

she has to sleep under the covers.

now back to  my minis, yesterday I almost finished my 40's house, now I just have to dirty it up and tidy up a few bits, the lights are in, I hate that job, why do the bits ping off at the moment you are about to connect it, got them done after a lot of swearing, you can see the result in the photos,

I then had a little black metal pram, so I customised that, I first painted the spokes brass coloured and around some of the pram, made a cover and hood, see the results,
I also made a small baby changing mat. I may make a few more bits not sure yet, I go into my work room with one idea and then I look around and change my mind.

I got this lovely display table from eBay, its showing little Egyptian relics, not sure where to put it yet, I have a big project that I want to do, if you have looked through my blog you would of see all the bits I have and have made for my Egyptian room box, so do not know if to put it in there or the study in my Victorian house, we will see, I keep looking at my Egyptian miniatures, I must start on that, it will be a big one, maybe I will start it,

I have also got another item from eBay ( I am always looking on there) not telling you yet but its so different, and have not got a glue what to do with it, ( I have just thought of something, but it may be a bit creepy) you will see what I mean when you see this mini, but that's all I am going to tell you about it, watch this space.

Its hot and sunny

Morning all

Hello and welcome my new followers, I am always surprised when I see you all and know that you look at what I do, I thank you for your interest.

its so lovely today, the sun is shining and its getting warmer all the time, mind you they have said we will have rain later, that will save me watering my veggies.

So what have I been doing, 40's house nearly done, got to attach the front, tidy up the exterior and connect all the lighting, I can then get on with the next project, I am torn between making the garden and Anderson shelter or the conservatory for my big house, decisions no doubt I will get on with something.

I have been busy making some more bits for eBay, I must get on and make myself another page for selling, but I always seem to be doing something else, I get asked if I get bored not having a job, NO I get up when I like, I do what i want and have time to spend doing my miniatures where is the boredom in that?

I am so excited I am getting a new puppy, a cross between a Yorkie and a miniature toy poodle, they are due to be born in 2 weeks, I will get fist pick,  I may have to start another blog about my new puppy, I got to see about freebie, as she is a girl I have got to get her done!!! as I want to have a boy this time and it would be hell when Freebie is in season, that will cost me I'm sure, visiting vets this week for her inoculation's so will discuss it then.

I was pleased this week I now only have to have my bloods taking every 3 weeks instead of weekly, they say they have got my blood clotting under control, I have to have another echo scan in 2 weeks, not looking forward to that I am scared as that's where I stopped breathing last time, but My fella is coming with me and I am sure they will know what they are doing, well i hope so. My joints have been very sore so at times it has been difficult, but I carry on no good moaning there are others worse off than me. see rambling again, I did warn you.

I distressed this and then added new covers and bows, the picture does not really show its colours at its best

back, added bows here to

kitchen dresser, i made the food, the cake stand is 2 plates connected with a small metal tube,the vase is a bead, from out of the drawers I put a small bit of checked material to represent a tea towel, the other holds napkins, which is just small bits of white material rolled and I added a trim to represent the napkin ring, other bits are from my stash.
