Good morning all
well I have not started work room, have now put everything back, my friend is not able to start for a few weeks, he has a big job on, so I have got to wait, so hopefully as soon as I get sorted I can get back to working on my 40's house, will take pictures today so you can see the progress and have some tutorials to show you, so after walking the dog, doing the house work, thats the morning gone, will be in the work room, so keep looking goodies coming soon

up date of work room

its been a while now since I have written so I thought I would update you on the progress of the refurbishment of my workroom, well I got it all cleared out, boxes everywhere for me to trip over, cannot find anything and guess what got to wait another couple of weeks as my friend has had to work on another project before he can get to mine,  still smiling, but I can't do anything as it is all packed away, so today went and brought some Aida material as I thought at least I can start making the mats, its so frustrating,

other news to tell you, I am going to America for 2 weeks in September to stay with my friend from School, we also done our nurse training together and I have not seen her for about 20 years, so excited about it, will be ticking of the days, 2 weeks of sun and so much to catch up on, we will be talking non stop.

Found a picture of a French shop that I did some time ago, this was sold to a lady in France, I made all the hats, bags and jewellery, I sprayed the furniture gold and added decorations, the hat stands are made from golf tees and beads, sprayed,  a lot of work went into this and I will admit I was reluctant to sell it, but I can't keep all my work would not have any room, hope you like it

This next lot of pictures is a church I made for my Aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary,

it took me a long time, they were very surprised, I made all the furniture, clothing, flowers, cards and cross stitched the tiny church kneelers, the pictures around the church were members of my aunts family, her mum and dad plus brother and sisters, some of them had died but I wanted to seem like her family was present, she has it in pride of place in her house and everyone who sees it comments on it, the pictures really do not show it at its best but I am very proud of it,

great news

Great news, finally I am getting my work room sorted,  it needs insulating, shelving, lights,
will put on a before picture and after for you to see, so this weekend will have to pack every thing up and clear it out, just as I am really getting on with my little house, but it will be worth it I can get so organised and not sit there with the electric fire going and a blanket over my knees, so excited, for years i have wanted a proper work room and now its going to happen,  how lucky am I.
the other news is as if I need this I am going to foster 2 dogs for 4 weeks, my friend goes aboard at times during the year to rescue and treat abused animals so I have agreed to look after her dogs how chaotic it will be next week 3 dogs, a workman me and my son, heaven help me, but I am just a girl that cannot say no, forgot to say as well as all that had a assessment from the occupational therapist and I am having grab rails put up, a bath hoist and a bed riser how exciting to have a disability never new there was so much on offer,  you would think that with all I have I would not want anymore, staying in as well this weekend as I have to use my frame, yes frame to walk with and no way would I go out using that too much pride bur then to are some things are sent to try us and i hope i rise to the challenge well i have nattered to much so of i go to start to sort out my work room, glad my son is here to help me, see you all soon

At last I can start

At last I have finished the painting, I did not put on photos for this bit as I thought I was bored watching paint dry so I would not inflict it on you.
anyway where are we up to,
I have done the floors, I used floor boards for the attic and second floor, which I painted brown and then I took a wet wipe and took some of the colour off, these will have rugs over them,
The bottom floor has lino for flooring, this was done by using some flooring i downloaded from the net and then put it through the laminated,
now I have to start putting it together, but first I have got to wall paper the rooms, 
so that's how far I have got, I had hoped that I would of done more, but I have had a bit of a bad week with my pain syndrome, so I have had to sit a lot and not done much, feeling much better today. well enough of that,
once I have got the house back together I will add the photos for your to see
now its back to work

the hard bit

What a day, I started by taking the little house to bits, I have removed all that I could, then removed the wallpaper which must of been put on with super glue!!! never mind got there in the end, there was no edging around the inside of the windows and it did not look finished so I also made several of them, why did I start this it would of been easier to buy a new one, but I have started so I will finish so she says, have popped on a picture of the striped house,

I am researching wallpapers and colours for the era so that I get it right, I have sent out requests to my family for old photos that i can use some have already replied so looking forward to getting them,

anyway another day tomorrow it will be paint time oh glee

I have decided after lots of thinking, looking at my books, looking at my bits, it came to me I will work on the house and so I then sat at looked at it and then it spoke to me, so it is going to be a little house set in the period of the world war 11, it will be the house of a family whose only son has gone to war, he has left behind his elderly parents, he was born late to them, so i hope to reflect in my design their memories and life,

I have a lot of work to do as the house is a wreck, it is slightly smaller than 1/12th so i will have to adapt the furniture, and as it only has 3 rooms i have got to be imaginative as to how i present it,

I will be taking you all along this journey and i hope that you will add comments or suggestions as i progress, i do intend to make as much as i can myself and will be putting the items on as i make them so you can see how they are made

its nearly finished

Today I have been putting the finishing touches to my updated haberdashery shop, I still have a few bits more to do, I cannot find lights that I want so will wait till I do before adding them, I also want to make a few hats using those that I found in the 1.00 shop, earlier post, not that happy with my sales lady might have to change her, i will live with her for a while and see,

the bolts of fabric are made by using scraps of material and wrapping them round a flat piece of cardboard,
the rolls of ribbon, very easy make a small shelf with a top, make a small slit either side, then take a cocktail stick and wind different laces, ribbon till full, leave bits hanging, place in slits, glue and there you have it,
the small boxes are made from either  cared or wood and if needed compartments made and filled with items,
buttons, small beads different colours,
threads, use cottons and wind round cardboard,
hat boxes, books and patterns from printies found on the web,
hope you like the finished effect.

the heater was made from a tut i found using cotton reel, buttons and wire them sprayed
the paint pots are made from balsa wood shaped, painted and labels found on web

I thought also I would show you my little shed, i made this from everything I already had and recycled as much as I could,
i really had to use my imagination on this one, as i was determined that i would not buy a thing, the shed itself is made from cardboard strengthened by wood,
the seed packets are printies,
