Its crazy here

Hi all

Yes it has gone crazy here, I have been busy with orders, the little cushions seem to be going well.

Not getting much traffic in my Esty shop, going to do some research today  about marketing and other things.

My sewing machine has been put away, so next week I am back to doing minis.

I am very lucky, I am having 2 Mother days, this week my youngest son, Liam is taking me to an Italian restaurant for a meal, and next week my eldest son Thomas, is taking me to his house ( he now lives in Cambridge, left Edinburgh last year)  and his cooking me a dinner, so lucky me.
hope you all have a happy mothers day.

here are some photo's of my craft work

I am having a change

Hi All

Yes I am having a change, I now have an Esty shop, where I hopefully sell handmade bags and gifts, this came about from me making Christmas gifts for my family. They encouraged me to make some to sell, so I am having  go.

So what I am doing is spending one week with my minis and one week doing my crafts.

This is my craft week.

I also realised, while my blog was unobtainable, I was still doing my minis, so I have some photos for you of the work I have been doing

my collection of glass was growing so I made a room box to house it

these are my man caves, I had so much and they could not be seen so now they are displayed in room boxes

well that's the lot for now,

A bit long this one so be prepared

Hi All
Must say thank you for your lovely comments

Some may moan about the cold and rain, me love it, yes that means I can stay in my workroom and bugger what is happening outside. So on that note this is what I have been up to.

I finished off my sink, pleased with how it came out. have got to work out how to make a seat,

I got some lovely lime green fabric from ebay and used this to cover 2 chars I had painted black, they will go in front of the  mirrors and small tables.

I did a dry run and put the bits I had made in the room box, I tried different arrangements and I think I have finally found how I want it to look, it looks very clean and tidy, will not be like that when it is finished.

I decided on a name, must admit it is not original but one I liked, so I printed out the name, laminated it and then cut them out, very fiddly, but worth it in the end.

Today I am doing research, another excuse to sit on my bum, well actually I have another project to do, it will be a clinic set in the Niger Delta, let me explain before you think she has finally lost the plot.

It started with my normal checkup at the doctors, once we had discussed my condition ect, he asked what did I do with myself, so i told him about my miniatures, he then had a look at my blog, he loved them, he then told me about the work he does for a clinic in the Niger Delta, he is one of the founder members, anyone interested in this, you can find it here
www.newfoundations.org.uk

anyway to cut a long story short, I have agreed to make a clinic room box which will be auctioned to raise money for them.
Typical me to choose an easy project.
So I am researching the Niger Delta, the Foundation, clinic and equipment, I will be putting my progress on here.
Well better shut up now, I told you it was long

I made the spray attachment using an ear piece and black wire

2 hair dryers, (charms painted) added leads and the hair straightener is a bit of kebab stick, silver paper and a bead

cold weather keeps me inside

Hi All

Yes it's cold outside, so that means I have to spend more time in my workroom, well someone has to do it.

I finished off the nail bar table, just used bits from my trash drawer, made tiny emery boards, just used real  sandpaper and stuck it to a tiny bit of card.

I  made a sink, I used balsa wood, scrap wood and a toilet roll

I start with an idea in my head and then make some sketches of what I want it to look like, then I look through my stash and start,  usually I make it up as I go along, I try to take notes, but my mind changes and I do something different, so it makes no sense if I write it down. babbling again.

I also painted the shop front, I have gone with black and green,  just need to find the door, I have put it some where safe, so safe I cannot find it !!!

Anyway have a look at the photo's

Hairdressing trolley made by me

Hi All

yes I have a hairdressing trolley,  I had some little white baskets, so used these as a starting point.
I then made a unit with shelves to take the baskets,

curlers-- were  yellow pipe cleaners, I just cut then down and trimmed them.

styling brushes-- I made a small brush shape from balsa wood, painted it silver with black spots and then put tiny wire around it, added a handle.

I cut up cleaning pads and put them into a small box

hairdryer-- was a metal charm, I painted it black and added a lead and plug.

the rest is what I had and just painted black.

the nail varnish bottles are beads.

I made a shelving unit for the nail varnish, this will go on the wall.

moving on

Hi All

I finished the lamp. attached it to the desk and added the light, the light is  light up earring, brilliant way to add light to places where you do not have wires and very cheap.

I have started to make the hairdressers trolley, I had some small plastic baskets so they are going in the shelves, it is made from balsa wood and cardboard, but painted up you cannot tell.

Not sure if I will get a lot done today, my grandson Jack, my son and his wife are coming for dinner. Now they have moved from Edinburgh to Cambridge I get to see them a lot more, Jack is changing so much.
see you all soon

its difficult to see the light, but it is on honest

I have a lamp

Hi All

yes I finally have a lamp, it took 2 disasters before  came up with this, I used a kebab stick, a small bell, a button and the end bit of  zip, put it all together and painted it black. There is a light to go in it, this is an light up earring, got the idea from a  member of hint and tips group on Facebook,  they are from China.

I made 2 little mirrors, these are just a piece of card cut into the shape you want and panted black and mirror card placed on top.

From a bit of something that I had in my trash, I made a nail dryer, not sure what they are called, you put your nail in it and it heats up,

I have primed the inside of the room box and will hopefully get round to painting it today,
have started to plan out the layout.

This morning I am going to the smoking clinic. I have become a non smoker since Jan 1st and so pleased with myself.
