Painting continues

Hi All

Yes I continue to paint, I hate this bit, cannot wait to start to put it together.

I finished painting the walls and added the striped paper, I now want to add wood to the top of the wood and skirting board to the base, hopefully doing that today.

I have found the window and door frame very flimsy and some have come apart, nothing tat a bit of glue will not cure, but I did expect it to be a bit sturdier, having looked at the plans, it seems very easy to put together, it comes with brackets so you can put it on the the wall, not sure yet if I will be using them.

I am now making some surf boards, these are so easy to make, I drew the shape of the board and then transferred this to thin balsa wood, (don't you just love balsa wood) I then sanded them into shape. I made some little thing's (not sure what they are called) they go on the bottom of the board, I assume to help keep it stable?

I then painted them in bright paint and will decorate them today, so watch this space,

Hi All

I have been busy today, I decided on the paint for the inside of my beach shop, its called storm white, I was going to do it all in the same colour  but did not really like it, so I checked out my stash of papers and found a pattern I liked so I am going to put that on the wall with the colour at the top, have a look

I think this really says seaside, it reminds me of sticks of rock.

I then printed out some pictures onto photo paper, not sure yet if they should be framed or not.

I also painted gold some of my little minis, some are plastic but they took the paint well and looked good. The mermaids and dolphins I put onto wooden plagues to hang on the wall.

The rest will go onto shelves around the shop.

I made 2 mobiles, but I will have to tell you my first attempt was a failure, I thought of using some of my liquid plastic putty, well I threaded thin gold wire through the holes and then used the putty to hopefully fill the holes and hold the wire in place. This seemed to work well so I left it to dry, when I checked later it had melted the plastic, so that failed, so I used very fine thread instead.

AND IT BEGINS

Hi All

yes it begins, I have started  my beach shop. Some time last year I got "The Cabin" I was just lurking on ebay, as you do, and there it was, no bids and for once it could be delivered, so I just had to have it, Why I do not know? I have room boxes, shops, caravans all waiting for my touch, so why did I think I needed another one? I think it is something to do with it being a bargain and I cannot miss a bargain.

I am like that in my real life, if I see something on special offer, it has to be something I use, I get 2 03 of them, I have a secret stash under my bed of all sorts of things, but then we never run out of toilet paper!!!.

Back to my beach shop, first I had better show you a picture

I took all the pieces out and made sure every thing was correct, it was.

the first thing I did was to remove the window panes I did not want to get paint on them, I could not remove the glass from the doors so I had to mask it up.

I needed  to prime all the wood first, one side done, today the other side. picture below

I am also going to continue to make items for my shop, hopefully tomorrow I will be able to show you what I have made.

I feel pretty good, I have started on a project and started to clear through my stash.

I have told myself, until I have cleared a lot of my unfinished projects and  stash, I will not start my big shop, and I know I said no more buying, I have had to get a couple of minis, but I justified this  by telling myself its for my big shop and this will not be sold. Funny how I can easily find an excuse!!

not been able to blog!!!

Hi All

yes that's right I have not been able to blog, for some reason i lost my blog, did I panic,I eventually worked out what was wrong, I had some how hidden it!! don't ask me how, so I am back, thank goodness

Then I could not post any pictures I have lost my camera battery charger, I have put it in a safe place, so safe I do not know where it is, I ended up buying a new camera, did not mean to do that either, I went on ebay to look for a battery charger and stumbled upon a camera, better than mine for 20.00 I quickly put in a bid and got it. It came today so I have been playing around with it, I love it. But being sods law I bet my charger will turn up now.

So what have I been up to. well I have started putting stuff on ebay, I have loads to go on I have been helping my dad clear out the bungalow, he does not want ornaments so will be trying to sell them for him. I never knew my mum had so much stuff.

My new years resolution is to work trough my stash and start to get rid of it, I have so much, anyway I started on the first item, and it was a nursery set, so I have repainted it added soft furnishing and lots of extras, I am pleased with how it turned out and tonight I put this on ebay, wish me luck.

I have heat

Hi All
just a quickie yes I have heat, the new boiler is in place and I can now control the temperture hurrah just got to clean up now x

SO BORED AND COLD

Hi All

Yes I am bored and cold, the reason is I am having a new boiler fitted and some of the radiators updated, so the heating has been off and I have no hot water.  they should be finished today. boredom is because I cannot get into m workroom to do any work on my minis. I have been sitting here for 2 days and there is just so much daytime TV I can watch.

I went to my dads on Tuesday, we are sorting out mums bits, I have lots of stuff to now to put on ebay, mum had loads of ornaments, not my dads cup of tea, he only wants to keep some of the special ones, the rest can be sold. 

I have been looking at your blogs, I remain very impressed by the high standard of work every one does. I have also been on my favorite thing PINTEREST, this is so addictive, I no longer buy dolls-house magazine, everything I want I can find on pinterest, much cheaper, well its free and a lot more interesting.

One thing I have been doing is sorting out my pictures, something I have been wanting to do for a long time, I now have them in order, makes it a lot easier when I am looking for stuff.

I have been making plans for my new dolls-house, I have decided it will be a ladies fashion shop, and will include a mans department and in the attic I am going to have a sewing room, and a ladies hairdressing salon and a mans barbers, lots of work to do. 
I have found that there is not a lot about for men in the miniature world, wonder why that is?
anyone know?
well off to put on a thicker jumper and socks its getting colder, hope the heating is back on soon

Its a new year and a new start

Hi All

Yes 2013 is over, what a year I had, there was happiness, my son getting married and sadness, my mum now at peace.

It got me thinking, Life throws at you many things and we never know what awaits us around the corner. it is up to us how we cope with the events that happen, me, well I tend to bury things and not talk about them, I am not sure if this is a good thing or not? my family and friends say I am strong and able to cope with things better than them. I think I just get on with life, so on that note I am getting on with life.

I do have a secret, not allowed to tell anyone yet, but just to say I was very happy with some news I heard on New Years Day, will let you know when I am allowed to say, its driving me mad as I want to shout from the roof tops but will remain gagged till I am told I can tell every one.

What I have planned for this year.

I am going to look at having my own web page, I sell well on Ebay, but the fees are getting more expensive and with the cost of postage it is not always the best way to sell, so I am looking around for a free web site.

I am selling my shabby chic shop and the dolls house shop I got last year, I need to make room for my new dolls house that I got for Christmas from my dad.

I am going to sort out all the miniatures I have got and will not be buying anymore till I have used what I already have.

I want to paint my workroom, well I say I, I mean my son, he does not know yet.

My big project of the year is to sort out my garden, my dad has given me his big shed, my son has brought himself a motor cycle that needs doing up and he has no where to put it, so hence the new shed, he also wants to learn about repairing motor cycles so he can work on others, this way he will have some where to work.

This week I am having a new boiler fitted, this should make my heating bills cheaper.

I am also going to my dads to start to sort out the house, my mum collected  everything and anything, my dad is not into ornaments, but then what man is, so there is a lot to sort through.

I am sure that my list of things I want to do will get bigger, but for now that is my plans for the new year,
