How does this happen?

Hi all

yes how does this happen? yesterday I went into my work room and wanted a small piece of card!! started to look and I ended up sorting out boxes, rearranging, dumping and tidying my work room, it took me 2 hours, and I only wanted a bit of card!! it must of been catching as my son decided to clear out his room as well, now this only happens once in a blue moon and what usually happens he just moves stuff about and calls it done, not this time, clothes were thrown out, rubbish was got rid of and he even returned crockery to be washed up. it now looks like a bedroom and the floor is cleared, forgot what colour his carpet was, lets hope this is a sign of things to come.


My son rang Friday night and the conversation started off " mum I need to find some boxes shabby chic style to wrap the ties and hankies in for the wedding gifts, I am looking for old cigar boxes, do you know where I can find them? " like a fool I said I have some like that in my photo album, now you know what is going to happen next, " wow do you think you could print them for me?" yes I replied, " lovely he said I need 7, I will be back on Friday and will bring the ties round, do you think you could wrap them for me and label them with old tags?
Still not sure how it all happened, but I now have to make 7 cigar boxes and wrap them,
see what I mean about how does that happen?


I spent some of the weekend taking and sorting picture's of my recent work, I was getting them ready to go on ebay, they usually have free listing on bank holidays, but sod's law, no free listing this weekend, never mind I now have everything sorted and ready to go.

I finished my minis and carried on with making my shoes, they are very fiddly and time consuming. Today I hope to start on the shop itself, I thought I had better do that before I get carried away with making items to go in it, I usually end up with so much stuff and it will not all fit in the shop, so I will be making a plan of what I want inside it and how things will be laid out. well that's the plan, just hope I do not get distracted and end up doing something different.

Mornings

Morning all

I have the dress, the hat, the shoes, just need the bag, wedding next week, getting excited, will be so proud when I see my son get married, hope I do not cry.

I have not been doing much in the way of minis, hence the lack of posts, we have been sorting out the garden, mainly the vegetable plot, my son has extended it a bit so we can grow a bit more veg, he is busy making raised beds, we will then fill them with soli and compost, the soil here is terrible, so we hope this way will help us to produce better veg.

Well that's real life taken care of  now lets get on to minis.

I have a room box that I have been looking at for ages wondering what to do with it, I had one idea of making it into a shop that sells all things horsey, but I wanted a bigger shop for that, I was on ebay looking at all things crafty and found some shoe charms, so I sent for a few to see what I could do with them, I loved them so I have started painting them, can you guess where this is going, yes I have decided to do a shoe shop, It will include some hats, bags and jewellery, so maybe it will be a ladies accessories shop, I have been busy making shoe boxes and in-between painting the shoes, they take a long while and are very fiddly, you paint a bit and then wait hours for it to dry,

I have also started another Kopy Kat, its a desk, did not have the exact one so had to bash a dresser about, I have been making a few kitchen shelves, they are not finished yet, but thought I would show you progress so far.

Hi All
yes the sun is shinning and the hot weather is on the way back, fingers crossed that it stays till the end of August for the wedding. My preparation continues, had my hair highlighted last week, just need to find the handbag then I am done.

We had some great news, my Niece gave birth to lovely Isabel, she is so cute and I love her name, it was just what the family needed, my sister in law is doing ok, she now has the Macmillan nurses around to give her help as and when she needs it.

Me, well I have been continuing to make My Kopy Kat minis, have got enough now to put on eBay, waiting for free listing, some of the minis that I have put on face book got sold, which was good. eBay is getting more expensive now especially now the postal rates have gone up, there are some people really charging high post, I saw for a chest of drawers (mini of course) she wanted 7.20 for post!! would not pay that.

Hi All

not mini related today, have been bust with real life, hate it when housework gets in the way, but it had to be done.

I have started the process of getting myself ready for my sons wedding on the 31st of August, I have the dress and the shoes, need to get my hat, I am having a fascinator, getting that this weekend.
Had my hair permed last week, today I am having high lights and low lights put in, ( hides the grey), next week I am having a body spray tan, well a girl has got to look good.

Some good news about my sister in law, she has come out of hospital and is feeling a lot better, the prognosis is still the same, but she is fighting it.

What I wanted to tell you, before I got distracted, is about my teacup dog, Moppet, she loves to ride on my mobility scooter, I had new batteries put in yesterday and my son decided to try it out, but not without Muppet, have a look

 

Life goes on

yes life does go on,  we are still trying to come to terms with my sister in laws illness, she has been in hospital where they fitted a stent in her liver to try to ease the discomfort, we are expecting her home today, we now know that she does not have long, we are hoping that my niece has her baby soon, she is due the end of this month. thank you all so much for your prayers and kind words.

I am getting myself ready for my son's wedding, it will not be long now, 31st August, I have finally got the dress and shoes, now need the hat and handbag. I had my hair permed last week, this week I am having high and low lights put in and I have booked a spray tan 2 days before the wedding, determined to look good on the day.

I have not deserted my miniatures, I continue on with my Kopy Kats, I have sold some already, I also have an order for a chair, anyway have a look ate the next one

Hi All

this Kopy Kat work is addictive, I keep thinking the last mini will be the last and then I will go on to something else, but then I flick through Pinterest and see other stuff I like and before I know it there I am starting another bit, oh well it looks like I shall be doing more.

Hi All

Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers, my sister in law is going onto hospital on Wednesday to have the stent put in, this will hopefully make her more comfortable. She is being very strong and fighting this,.

I have been continuing my Kopy Kats, it is great fun, half the battle is finding the right furniture ad in some cases the right decoupage to go on it. I decided to do a couple of small boxes that I saw, these were so easy to make, I just cut balsa wood to the size I wanted and the covered it, I do not have a picture of these, I got them out of a magazine.

I copied a chest, I painted an old chest I already had, I used off white and grey, distressed it added a picture to the top, I painted card the same colour and cut this to represent the edges of the chest, I had some thin off white leather, I used this for the straps, the catch was painted and added, I love this one.
