been a bit distracted

Hi All
I have been a bit of a bad blogger, I have had some serious real life problems that have taken over my life at the moment, so have not had the time or the energy to blog, even my miniatures have had to take a back seat, but I think things are beginning to settle down, I hope so.

I am going to Edinburgh on Sunday, its my son's graduation on the Monday, really proud of him and what he has achieved, I am staying there for 5 days, I am looking forward to it.

I have got one thing made, its a lovely shadow box, I made  this at the request of my friend, she is going to a wedding and wanted something different, I have made these before, and she is now going to have samples in her shop to see if she can get me orders, would be nice, anyway have a look.

I hope now that life has settled I can get on with my minis, I am making a gypsy caravan for a fortune teller, its still in the painting stages, I have changed my mind to the colour a few times, but I do feel now I have the colour I want, will pop on some photos when I am happy with it.

Its Gone

Hi All
yes its gone, my music shop has gone to a musician who lives in London, they came to collect it yesterday and loved it, they have promised to send me photo's when it is in its new home.

Did not get much done yesterday, mostly I was looking at different designs to paint on my caravan, I keep getting distracted by the little old lady that has taken up residence in my work room, I keep getting reports that she is wandering around at night, but every morning she is on her scooter waiting for me. She changed the scooter last night and she is now on the Goth on, I will have to give her a name, cannot keep calling her old lady!!

busy day yesterday, I finished a shadow box for my friend, she did not want a room box but wanted something in mini for the birth of a baby boy, so came up with this

I also found this little old lady in my work room, I have been told by my face book friends she is getting about, all I know she has a big smile on her face in the mornings.

Back to the caravan, finally paint is dry so today will start decorating the outside, I changed my mind about the colour, I was going to have a baby blue, but when I thought about it I changed it to bright red, as it is going to be a gypsy fortune telling wagon, I thought it would be bright to attract customers, I do have another caravan and that I will do in shabby chic.

I have the lady coming from London today to collect the music shop, I do hope she likes it, she seems very excited by her emails.
 
we are having warmer weather and this is helping me with my condition, I am having some very good days I hope this continues I go to Edinburgh on the 30th June for my son's graduation on the 1st July and I am staying up there for 5 days, so much looking forward to it and then it will soon be the wedding.

Still painting

Hi All

yes I am still painting, this seems to take so long, you paint a bit wait for it to dry paint a bit more, so will not bore you with photo's of paint drying.

I did finish a settee while I was waiting for the paint to dry, its in a lovely gold and black fabric, the photo does not really show it well.

Today I have my yearly visit from my social worker, she comes to check I have every thing I need and am still coping with my condition, we usually end up having a good old natter about life in general.

In the mean time I am going off to finish painting!!!!!

What have I started

Hi All

yes what have I started, now I finally got the caravan to bits and could look at it closely, it was bad, but I carried on, first I made a template for the door, I want to have a front to the caravan, I then covered the sides and front in mount board, this seemed the best idea as the wood was so badly marked, no amount of rubbing would not make it good.

after I had done this, I needed to decide on the colour, I have used a blue, but not sure if it is what I want, so living with it for  couple of days.

I made 4 window boxes, (forgot to take picture, next time I will ) and today I hope to finish the painting of the outside, then I can look at the inside.

My mum and dad came over to see my new kitchen, they loved it, they brought their new puppy, called Toby, we all sat outside so they could play, it was not very warm, you will see what I did to my mum.

Hi Al

Who is this, I keep getting random comments that mean nothing to me form ANONYMOUS,
I keep deleting and saying its spam, but everyday there is more, I cannot find the source of these comments but its driving me mad, any one else have this.

Well rant over, finally got everything in its place in my new kitchen I decided to chuck out stuff I do not use and reorganise, then I forgot where I put everything, got my head round it now.

I sold my music shop, it had been sitting around for some time after I completed it, and then I thought get a grip, you made it to sell, so get on and do it, my trouble is I fall in love with every thing I make, but it is sold, good job I have a lot of pictures.

I have been getting on with my son's wedding gift, have got her dress made, I ma taking a risk and showing you it, but they are so busy I do not think they will go on here, they only go when I tell them to have a look at some thing, but this is the first wedding dress that I have made, and feel quite proud of it, Amy's mum is coming round next week to have a look at it to see if I have got it right. I have been lurking about on their face book accounts down loading pictures of them on their round the world trip, I want to shrink these, I may use them as a collage in the back ground or a album, not sure yet. the next thing for me to create is the flowers, I do have a picture of them, but now I have to find the right colours, they are in varying degrees of pink. have a look at the dress.

I have started my next project, I won a gypsy caravan from ebay the other week, it looked really nice in the photo, I knew it would need a bit of work, when I got it, it is really very crudely made, they had used nails to hold it together, I am talking big nails!!, so I decided the only way to do this is to take it to bits. The wood was rough so I covered it all in mount board, I made a new front with a door, it did not have a door, in some ways it would of been easier to make it myself, never mind I am sure I will make it look better than it did. today I want to start to decorate it, I will be putting it all together when I have finished painting as it will be easier that way. will keep you up to date with my progress and show you the stages and what I did. so here it is what it looked like when I got it.

 

I'M BACK

Hi All

I am finally back, the kitchen is finished and I can get back into my work room,
this is what it looked like

So now I can get back to working on my projects. I just put a load of minis on Ebay and sold most of them so will need to start making some more.

 

I have started a new shop, this is going to be one around horses and their gear, plus I have a fancy to make a Arabian vintage  costumes, I was looking round the web trying to decide what I would do next and came across these, and loved them, they are so vibrant, have been making sketchers and will see what I come up with.

 

The other project is one I cannot talk about or show you till after August, its something to do with my son's wedding and as they occasionally have a look at my blog, do not want them to know what I am doing.

 

It is such a relief to have every thing back to normal, I do not do mess, I am very tidy and like to have things in their place, so you can imagine how hard is was for me, still not moaning as I am so lucky to have a bespoke kitchen in oak for less than 500.00, you cannot beat that.

 

Well better get off now loads of washing to do and I want to get into my work room.
