and its still raining!!!!
Hi All
I wish I could tell you different, but, yes, its still raining, yesterday we did have a dry day so we managed to get some gardening done, but I am still waiting for the stones to be laid, we have no date it will just be the day it is not raining, so that will be ?????????????
I have got my head around my visit to the hospital last week and the news they gave me, at first I did feel very low, but I now think at least I will know what I am facing and will be able to get on with it, I have started the new drugs and no improvement yet, but it is early days, I am having to learn to pace myself, I get very breathless, even simple things like hoovering can cause me problems, so its learning to deal with it and find ways around things so that life is easier for me. I do feel sad for my son, he lives with me, he is only 22 and its hard for him, as he takes on most of the cleaning and cooking and looks after me, I do not like him seeing me like I am, but he seems to cope, well he never complains, bless him.
On to a happier note, I have been doing my miniatures, after the disaster with the duck house, I started again, this time I am making a beach hut for them, together with a little beach scene, I am only using bits that I already have, so I have been cutting, sanding and my favourite bit painting, it seems to take forever, I cut and paint and then wait for that to dry before I can start on the next stage. Anyway some photos for you to see my progress
have a great day

Hi All
thank you for your lovely comments about my little settee, I enjoyed doing it.
i have just come back from my hospital tests and appointment, it appears that I may have COPD, I am to have more scans, take a different inhaler and go back in 2 mths to see if there has been an improvement, and don't you just love it when they say, do not worry, as she also said due to the size of the clots I had on my lungs last year, I may have some residue of clots still there, but as I am on the warfarin, its OK!!! oh well more tests, more drugs, good job I remain positive.
Friday is supposed to be the day the stones are to be laid in my garden, if you could see the weather we are having here, rain, winds and cold, I somehow think it will be again cancelled, where is the sun!!!
hopefully back to minis tomorrow

back to minis
Hi All
I managed to get back to some minis today, my garden is now on hold, we have everything ready, stones delivered, ground prepared and guess what, its raining, we had decided that Friday would be the day and guess what, we are in for heavy rain and thunder storms, Its my fault I kept bragging about the sun, you know that fleeting week of sun we had, think that was summer.
Tomorrow I have got appointments at the hospital, lung function tests then seeing consultant, at least I do not have to wait for the results.
So today I made sure that I did some minis, I did feel a bit let down now that my duck house got broke, but I am not giving up and have decided to make a beach hut for them instead, so I have measured out loads of bits of wood, they have been painted, I always paint before gluing as paint does not seem to go over glue very well, so I am back to my favourite hobby, watching paint dry.
I did complete a little settee, not shabby chic, looking through my stash I found this settee and loves the shape of it, I painted it gold, added some jewellery, which I also painted gold, recovered using silvery silk material, added trim and 3 cushion's, pretty pleased with the result.

Disaster
Hi All
Disaster!! my duck house got broken, partly my fault, we were very busy clearing the garden and the rain came, in our haste to collect the tools etc, we just threw them in my work room, in the process my little duck house fell to the floor and got broke, I have had to admit defeat, I tried all yesterday to repair it, but it was too far gone. It has made me lose heart with this project, I will continue to dress the ducks, but will put the project on hold till I feel like tackling it again.
we are now ready in the garden for my cousin to lay my stones, I got some little lights and my son put them around the wisteria, they look so pretty at night. We have only one problem, after all the sunshine we now have rain, just hope it stops long enough for the patio to be laid. Today we are removing my wall paper in my bedroom, I am having a feature wall, I got some lovely flowered pattern paper, my cousin is also going to hang that as well.
So you see I have been busy, I have had very little time for minis, I hope soon to be back in my work room creating and making,
