a funny story to be told.

Hi All

I had a quiet few days,was not able to do much, this was due to my prescription being mucked up, I have my medication every month and usually  all I have to do is collect it and have been doing this for a very long time, this month, guess what? go to collect and they do not know what I am talking about!!! everyone was blaming each other, this was no help to me, so it meant I had to wait 2 days before I could get it sorted, why does it always happen at a weekend. 

This meant my body reacted to the lack of medication and I just had to sit and wait, I was able to take my standby meds, but they do make me very sleepy and a bit spaced out. I was so glad when Monday came and I could get it all sorted, then it was a couple of days to get my body back to normal, well as normal as it can be. 


I did manage yesterday to finish off some more of the accessories that I was making,
I so much want to get on with painting the shop, but my work room is to small for me to do it in there, I really want a nice day where I can do it outside, frustrating, I may have to just do a couple of bits at a time, will have to think about it.

Here is a funny tale for you, years ago, in my wild days, my cousins husband painted me, wait for it---------NUDE, yes I mean naked and proud, I wanted to look back when I was a lot older and say yes I once looked good,  when my marriage ended, I gave my picture to  my mum to look after it for me till I got my new home and had some where to display it, so I go to collect it and my mum said she had done something to it, now I thought,maybe new frame, NO NO!! guess what she had done? she had a dress painted over my body, yes a bloody dress, she did not like to see it, as it was in  her loft, I could not understand why. various people have tried to remove my dress,  I do mean from my painting,  but not had much luck, its oil on oil, I could take it to a proper restorer but it is expensive, so for now, it hangs on my bedroom wall, just waiting for me to reveal me again.

I was so upset about it, I will never look like that again, my mum just thought it looked better.

Had a slow day

Hi All

Do you ever have one of those days, where you look like you are doing something,but in reality nothing gets done!! Yesterday was one of those days.

My work table looked good, all sorts of stuff spread all over.To those that do not know, it looked like I was being very productive NO!!  it was just an illusion.

I was having a clumsy day, everything I picked up I dropped,  I glued, then found out after it had dried, that I had glued the wrong bit. 

But amongst the chaos I did get some right.

My watches got painted, and wallets got made.

I hope today I get on a bit better and will get more done.

Belt up

Hi All
I must apologise, I did not notice that the number of followers had increased, so welcome to my new followers, it is lovely to see you here, I hope you enjoy my blog and feel free to make comments,

This new project of mine is getting to be very addictive, my head is brimming with ideas and I have to be careful, I do have a habit of having 2-3 projects on the go. 

Yesterday I started to make belts, I used thin strips of leather and decorated them, for decoration  I used some tiny gold and sliver (coloured not real) tiny shapes, cannot remember where I got  them from, they are very fiddly to use, and then I dropped the lot on the floor, I had to use cellotape to help me pick them up, it took me ages. That will teach me to make sure  I put things in a safe place.

I also made boxes for my gloves to go in.

I was hoping to start painting the dolls house, but the weather  here is very cold and damp, I really need a dry day so I can get outside, if  I can't do that I will only be able to do one bit at a time, that means it will take ages, and I am not  the most patient of person.

Thank you for your kind words, 
My bruises are slowly going and it is easier move.  That's the only thing about my condition, if I have a fall or an injury, my body reacts by giving me severe pins and needles in my legs and loads of pain, I have to increase my pain medication and wait it out.

I am  so glad I have my miniatures, they help to keep me distracted. Anyway enough about that.

I am continuing to work on men's accessories, I have been making socks, gloves and hankies, bugger are they fiddly, my first attempt of socks were not very good,  I thought  by sewing 2 shapes of socks together, they would look good,but they turned out to bulky.
so I made them by using  a single piece of material, they looked much better. 

The hankies were a lot easier, I just cut up strips and folded  them,placed them in a box and  covered them.

It is so fiddly making tiny bits,  my fingers  are to big, bits get dropped  never to found, the wrong bits stick together, and we call this fun,some call it madness,whatever it is I love it.

been busy today

Hi All

yes been busy today, I made some shirts in boxes, these are very fiddly to do,but once I got into the swing of it,it got easy,

I did not intend to start making clothes yet, but you know how it is, I always end up having  loads of projects on the go.

have not started painting the big house yet, I was going to use watered down white emulsion paint, but  a  friend of mine,he is a carpenter said it would be better to use a primer on the MDF, it gives a better seal. So I need to get some.

I am a bit sore this week, my dad came over and brought his dogs with him, the young one is very boisterous and he tried to get out of the door as I was going out and  he ended up tripping me up,so a bit bruised and battered. Never mind it gave me a good excuse to sit down and the best place to sit,just happened to  be  my workroom.

well enough about me, have a look at my shirts and hankie set.

just a quickie

this is just a quickie, but had to show you my new unit for my dolls house, the drawers and cupboard will be used to store my bits,now I can really get started.

Hi All

Yes I am so excited, my unit, that I ordered  to stand my big house on, its arrived, yes its here. I bribed my son to put it together for me.
Tomorrow I will put on a photo for you to see.

Anyway what have I been up to ? still making accessories for the men's department, ties were pretty much a failure,the tape did not hold, but thank's to my good friend Sue, she said to use wonder web,   I did  and its woks a treat.

I made some more tie sets, I have printed of loads of  men's aftershave boxes and some other items, so I have a lot to cut out, the pile looks so big,  still I do need lots,

Now that my unit has arrived I can now start with the building and altering the ground floor.

Before that I have to do the boring bit, using watered down white emulsion,I need to paint all of the walls,  including the edges, this will stop any paint or glue being absorbed into the MDF, but never mind,I can see the starting position.
