work finished and a little tutorial

Hi All

Yes I have some work finished, while I was waiting for paint to dry I decided to see what I could make with some coloured lolly sticks, as I had been making some kiddies furniture I thought I would make a shelving unit. This time I remembered to take photos. this is so easy to do

Here goes

my supplies

I cut the ends of 2 of the lolly sticks

glued on some animal buttons to both sides

measured and cut small bits of wood for supports for the shelves

cut more of the lolly sticks to make the shelves

added a back and painted the shelf supports

how easy was this

by the time I had finished this, my other projects were dry, so have a look at what I have done, this is some more of my shabby chic work.

I've been productive

Hi All

Yes I am being very productive, must be the sunshine we have been having. I am working on some more shabby chic items and in-between I am working on minis. I have taken a few photos so you can see how busy I have been and I am hoping by tomorrow I will be showing you the end results.

Is it me!!!!

Hi All

Yes I am asking is it me? I do like Google chrome, but it does cause me problems, it has just took me 3 days to get my blog back, ever since I downloaded Google chrome it has caused me problems, I have been to the help page and it seems it does have teething problems!!, I am giving it one more go and if I still get problems I will remove it. I just wonder if anyone else has had problems with Google chrome ?
I am not sure how I did it but I got my blog back, I did have the sense this time to make a note of everything I did so if it vanishes again, hopefully it will not be to much trouble to get it back.
So while it is working I will give you an update on what I have been up to.

My son belongs to a biker  group and they are having a bike fest in August, they were looking for something different as a prize in the best bike competition, so me being me said "I will do something" the idea I have is to do a diorama, this will be inside a bike helmet, I will have a couple of bikes on the walls and a bike being worked on, there will be posters, tools, helmets and anything else I can think of, if anyone has any ideas please let me know, I am still in the planning stage, I have got a couple of motor bikes from ebay, I did not even try to make one, my son and his mates will be providing the helmet. I am also going to have a stall selling shabby chic home decor items and some of my miniatures. Looking forward to it.

So what have I been up to? I have continued with my painted miniatures, this time I have done another wardrobe, I repainted this red and then painted flowers on it, distressed it and then covered it with varnish, I like this one, but it will be going on ebay soon, I am continuing to do well on ebay.
I also repainted and recovered a 3 piece suite, I got some lovely black and gold fabric and had been looking for something to use it on, I think it looks lovely.

The other thing I made was a mini draw (real life size) this had been sitting in my shed, again I repainted this added some hearts and varnished it , I also had a small ?key hanger, I painted this blue, distressed it and added some pretty birds. I am not sure if I should keep these for my stall or try them out on ebay to see if they sell.

Bit of good news, well for me, my dad has given me a small glass cabinet, and it is the right size to stand my new dolls house on and I can display my miniatures in the cabinet as well, we just have to find someone to bring it over to me, and I have brought another printers shelf, so i am busy cleaning it up, this will be going on the wall to show my ever increasing collection of special minis.

Yes its official I finally finished a project, ho good is that, I got my head down yesterday, ignored the dust and the housework and went into my work room and stayed there.
And I finished my kiddies room set. Yippee.

I was wondering why the sudden interest in kiddy stuff and then light bulb went off, its because I am becoming a Nannie in September. I am looking forward to seeing my little grandson, I have been buying bits for it and hiding them under my bed. I have this idea, I am going to do a hamper for them filled with baby bits, anyway I digress , better talk minis.

I made bed covers for the little bed I had made, the bed was very easy to make, I used balsa wood, I love balsa wood,  on the bed ends I put  little wooden buttons in the shape of  bunny and a owl, I was very lucky at my favorite shop, The Attic, sells every thing, I found the owl buttons, a pack of 6 for 60p so I brought 4 packets, how good was that.

I then made bed covers and pillows, placed a blanket over it, its done.

The blanket is made from a baby blanket, I found this in B&M's, for  £1.00, so I got 2 in white and pink, they are thin enough to use in mini.

I will also have a small table there to sell my work, I will be doing some (real Life) shabby chic items and a few minis. 

well better get on, my dad is over today and we are going to the Range, I love that shop and always find something I want.

Hi All

Looking in my shed, I came across some stuff I had brought with the plan of making them shabby chic, yes I know another project to do, I picked the one that appealed to me the most, that was a tatty key box, I sanded it down and then painted it, decoupaged it, made it shabby, varnished it and it was done, why is it not that easy with miniatures. I did go back to mini making later, but it was nice to do something different.
I repainted a little dolls house for the dolls house

I had my bloods done on Friday and I am so pleased, I have stayed within the range, so I am now on 4 weekly visits, hope this continues.

More minis today after I have posted some parcels, I sold some of my mini creations on ebay and I am always surprised that they sell and where they go, this time its New Zealand.

I am a naughty bloger

Hi all

yes I am naughty!! I mean about my blogging, it seems that real life keeps getting in the way of my miniatures, how dare it.

The days seem to be flying by, I get up in the morning with the idea of quickly doing my house work and then on to minis,  but it dies not seem to happen, first its the start of spring, so garden needs a tidy up, then I decide my curtains need to be cleaned, then I think the wood work needs washing down, you get the idea, does others do this I wonder?

I did manage to get a few hours this week, I seem to have so many projects on the go and again I start of thinking, right I will finish one thing before I go on to another, again wrong, it maybe I want to look at something in my vast collection of books and then I see something and I think that's nice and before I know it I have started another mini!!
Oh well maybe one day I will be organised, she dreams, 
I would love to know if this happens to you.

Anyway let me show you what I have got round to doing.

After I made the toy cupboard I decided to make a child's bedroom suite in the same style.
