oops

Hi All

yes it was a big oops, I was laying the roofing tiles and the end was in sight and guess what? yes the roof was the wrong way round!!!  so there I was was removing the tiles, then came the fun of cleaning of the glue, this took ages, I think if I had more tiles I would of ended up throwing them away, but being on a budget could not do this so I carried on.
finally I got both sides of the roof tiled. Now I need to wait for them to dry so I can begin to make them look like real roofing tiles, I had already painted the roof grey so that any gaps would not show as white.

I had a problem that I had been thinking about for a few days, how was I going to get inside the shop when I put the final wall and roof on? first I thought should I make one of the walls hinged? or the roof hinged? I finally decided on the roof, this seemed the easiest, I have got to find hinges now, how is it that one thing leads to another!!

I continued on with my shelving, I have to wait for the glue to dry before I can get on with putting the shelves on, handy tip, if you have items that are to big for your clamps but you need to hold them in place, use masking tape, this does not leave any sticky residue and more important does not remove any paint when removed.

here are the photos,

My secret revealed

Hi All

Yes I have a big secret, have kept it to myself since New Years Day, and last night I had a call and was told I could now tell it, the only thing I ask, those that are on my face book page do not say anything about it on there please, my son wants to let the family know before it goes public, guessed yet? drum roll,  I AM GOING TO BE A NANNIE , yes my first grandchild, due 2nd September, so much looking forward to this, been told they do not want it spoilt, sod off its my roll as a Nannie to spoil , I have already got it something, a little bunny rabbit with a book for bedtime stories. Time to get the needles out and start knitting for the baby.

Filling the shop, I decided that I have a lot of minis to go in  my shop and I had better start to make shelving units to put them on.

I wanted to have on wall just shelving, so I measured the width and height, and using the old faithful, balsa wood, I have got the back, sides and shelves made, they have been painted, today I hope to finish them. forgot to take photo of it, will do so today so you can see what I( am talking about.

I painted a wire shelving unit and completed some of the other mini items,

Getting back to normal

Hi All

Thank you all for your kind words while I have been under the weather.

Yes I am beginning to get back to normal, whatever normal is. My legs still have a lot of fluid but they are better than they were and I have managed to get my pain back under control. I have pain syndrome, got this following me falling out of the loft and damaged my leg and spine, basically what it means, is my body is constantly  in pain, as my brain no longer knows how to switch it off, I have to take  cocktail of drugs to enable me to function. Sometimes it can take over my life and I have to give in to my body and allow it to rest and recuperate, this down, so now I hope to get back to my minis. I have been doing a little when I can and I finally have something to show you.

While I was resting, I decided to have  go at miniature knitting, I had only knitted blankets before, I can do big knitting so I thought I could do mini. I was very pleased with my first attempts.

I continued to work on my beach shop and have completed a lot of the little minis that I want to put in it, I also papered and painted the inside of the shop.

Anyway enough of the natter see for yourself what I have  been up to.

need to add little buttons and ribbon to the hat

the little minis are charms that I painted

I hit the wall

Hi All

Yes I hit the wall!! what do I mean? well as some of you know I have nerve damage to my spine, this causes me to live in extreme pain, ( I also have others things wrong with me) usually my condition is kept under control using medication. There are times when I have a crisis and last week was one of them.
My legs filled up with fluid and I had a lot of pain.
With trepidation I visited my  GP, he is new to me, I usually have to go through everything and they always seem to be the one that wants to mess about with my medication. This one was a little poppet, he took time with me and we had quite a chat,  he gave a stronger medicine that I can take when I get break through pain and drugs to help get through of the fluid.

The outcome of this I have been sleeping and resting a lot, I am now hopefully coming out of it, and will soon be able to get back to my minis.

I knew that at some time this would happen, stress affects me and brings on a crisis and as you remember I nursed my mum and then had all the stress of her funeral and sorting of her belongings.
I don't usually reveal to much about my condition and most of the time I can get on with it, but there are times where I need extra help,

See you all soon xx
